Holiday gift fair to purchase gifts from local, women business owners to help a local charity. Proceeds benefit CASA of Westmoreland, Inc. In addition to showcasing the goods and services of some of our members, we are also staffing a WBN table there to talk to other local women about WBN and serve as a recruiting event. All are welcome.
A non-profit agency, CASA provides volunteers to act as independent advocates for children who are in the court system due to abuse and neglect. These volunteers collaborate with a variety of individuals involved with the child, including the case worker through Westmoreland County Children’s Bureau and other service providers. Recommendations of CASA volunteers assist the courts in determining each child’s placement in safe, permanent and nurturing homes. CASA of Westmoreland, Inc. currently serves 123 of the over 300 children in the court system who have been removed from their homes. CASA’s goal is to one day provide service to every child in Westmoreland County who is in need of advocacy.
