BIOGRAPHIES

February 21-23, 2014

Carole J. Babish,  CLU, ChFC has been in the insurance and investment business since 1983, with the focus on small businesses, professionals, women and families. Her goal is to provide her clients with financial security at the time they need it most. She considers it to be a privilege to have helped fulfill the needs of hundreds of clients over the last 31 years.   Carole has been a member of WBN since May of 1990 and has held many positions including President of the Board for the1994-95 term. She has served on several boards in the city of Pittsburgh and has been a long time member of Zonta International. She recently served on the 125th anniversary committee for the city of Jeannette, PA and is active in her church and the Arts and Activities Center. Her interests are gardening, sewing, travel and dancing. She makes her home in Jeannette, PA, is the caregiver for her mother age 95 and the 4 legged critters under her feet (or on her lap).

 

Peggy Bianchi  received her Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Pittsburgh in 1975, and completed a Masters of Public Management at Carnegie Mellon University in 1995.  Margaret is currently co-owner and administrator of New Steps Rehab, Inc., an out-patient rehab facility located in the Rita Arms Plaza on Route 30 in North Huntingdon, PA.  Besides managing this facility, she       is actively involved in patient care and provides specialty treatment for post-stroke and treatment of incontinence. She is also a certified Pilates instructor who incorporates Pilates into her treatment protocols   for back and neck pain, as well as, teaching Pilates mat classes at the Rita Arms location.  She believes in treating the “whole” body and meets the patient’s need by providing one-on-one direct care. Peggy has been an active member of the Norwin chapter of WBN since 1997.

 

Jennifer Bibb  is the Office Manager of First Commonwealth Bank’s McKeesport Office.   She is a member of      WBN’s Mt Lebanon Chapter and currently serves as President of the Organization.  Jennifer has been with First Commonwealth Bank since 2005 and is a 2009 graduate of the bank’s Management Development Program.  During  this training Jennifer visited every department of the bank to learn how the entire bank works.  She completed Pennsylvania Banker’s Association (PBA) courses as well as the PBA School of Banking in 2008. Jennifer works closely with her clients to build strong relationships with those in her community.   Jennifer’s strong lending background has enabled her to help her clients achieve their financial goals through refinancing, consolidation, and obtaining new credit. She has been recognized with several honors for exceeding loan production goals.

Donna Cheswick  with more than 26 years of experience, Donna provides objective financial guidance and unbiased investment advice to individual and institutional investors.  She takes a personal approach to understand the financial goals and the lifestyle needs of each of her clients to provide full-service long term financial solutions and to educate clients on the complexities of the financial world. Since 2008, Donna has been a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst and helps clients and their attorneys better understand the financial complexities surrounding divorce and forecasts the long-term effects of alternative settlement proposals.  She is also trained in divorce collaboration.

 

 

 

WBN Conference Speakers and Facilitators

February 21-23, 2014

Marilu Ickes  at this time she is working on her doctoral dissertation in order to complete her PhD at Capella University. She has a Bachelor degree in Labors Relation and a Masters in Administrative Programming both from the University of PR. In Puerto Rico, Marilú worked as an arbitrator and mediator in the union environment for 12 years.  For five years worked for the U.S. Secret Service as  ombudsman, Spanish interpreter, training programs analyst, and taught leadership, communication, team work, and problem solving seminars.  Currently, she is a public speaker on Christian women’s topics.


JOY KLOHONATZ has been in the relationship building business for most of her life. As one of the first women to become       a General Store Manager with Kmart, her stores received numerous awards for superior customer service.  Later she became her own boss and entrepreneur building successful teams through direct sales home party plan.  She feels she    has now found her real passion through Send Out Cards and making a difference in people’s lives through simple acts       of kindness every day.  In just one short year she has ranked advanced three times to currently a Senior Mgr. & Senior Certified Trainer. The key to her success she contributes to simply building & maintaining good relationships through appreciation & gratitude.

 

Karen McCrory has been a member of WBN for 24 years.  At the time she joined she was a Senior Outside Sales Representative for McBee Systems selling checks and forms in Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia.  Thanks to help and encouragement from fellow WBN members she started an estate sale business, Estate Transition Services, and successfully operated it for 15 years.  She recently retired from it and is currently using her creative skills to do small creative projects upon request such as a mink teddy bear, custom made purses and home decor

 

Annette Merlino - Dr. Annette Merlino has been doing dental missions since her graduation from Pitt in 1988.  She   has worked in 15+ countries, making 2 or 3 trips each year, sometimes accompanied by her husband or her 6 year old daughter.  She has spoken locally and nationally and is a former WBN Woman of the Year.  She has offices in Delmont and Leechburg. 

 

Stephanie Roy -  is a Process Therapist, Group Facilitator and Public Speaker.  She has a B.S. Degree in Human Services and extensive post-graduate training including 2 years of Process Therapy and 2 years of Retreat and Leadership Training at Shalom Mountain Retreat and Study Center. She has facilitated workshops and retreats in Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Maine, Pennsylvania and Ireland,  and has maintained a private therapy practice since 1995.  She has been an active member of WBN since December 2011.  Process therapy is a holistic and experience-based approach to psychotherapy that acknowledges the profound interconnection between body, mind, heart, and spirit. 

 

 Kate Thompson,  M.Ed., LPC, NCC is a licensed professional counselor and a member of the Washington Chapter.  Her career in counseling, social services and education has led her to opening a private practice in November, 2012.  Kate offers fresh approaches to helping people change with expertise in combining mind and body therapies.  She has a strong interest in the brain and neurophysiology.  She  welcomes clients who have experienced lifelong difficulties and those whose challenges have developed recently and/or unexpectedly.  She works with an array of issues that impact who they want to be and how they want to feel.  Kate enjoys sharing in her clients’ journeys to change and celebrating the significant growth they often experience.
